It’s unbelievable and I’m not sure how it’s possible but here are the results as they read on my Japanese Language Proficiency 2004 certificate:
Writing/Vocabulary, 75/100
Listening, 93/100
Reading/Grammar 115/200合格 (Passed)
I hope all of you got the results you wanted – if you’re not shy then please tell us how you did.
Wow! Congratulations!

It’s great to hear that you passed
I haven’t received my results yet
But when i do, I’ll post my results.
Tim.
Congratulations! I passed 3 kyu.
Well done! I haven’t yet my results, I’ll post when they will arrive. Congratulations!
Congratulations Darren and Andy!
大変お疲れ様でした。
Well done Andy!
Tim & Toki, I’ve got my fingers crossed for you =)
Thanks as always, Charmaine.
Congratulations man! Did working on this site help much? And are you gonna go for 1kyu next year? Good luck!

Hi everyone,
I finally got my results today.
Writing/Vocabulary, 82/100
Listening, 74/100
Reading/Grammar 121/200
277/400 合格 (Passed)
By the way, for those that didn’t know i did 2 kyuu.
Tim.
That’s great Tim. What a relief, eh.
Adamu – I think this site has helped, more in way of motivation than anything. Getting through the grammar points and learning common kanji compound words along the way was the way I passed.
At the moment I don’t think I’ll be up to trying 1 kyu, but then again…
Anyone have any thoughts about whether they’ll attempt the test again this December?
Yeah, i’m definately gonna take 1 kyuu this year
.
.
Already studying for it.
I reckon you should do it too Darren. I think just the process of preparing for it will help you improve heaps regardless of whether you pass or not.
I reckon you can do it.
I think the most important thing is to keep practicing all the time.. if you leave it to next year, i guess you will get a bit slack and you won’t improve as fast.
Well thats my excuse anyhows.
Lemme know what you think.
Tim.
Hello, my name is Chris, I’m from Hong Kong. Congrats on your jlpt results=)
I came across your site and thought I’d as you a question i wanted to know the answer to… how long does it take a person normally to reach the JLPT at Level 2 ? I just passed the jlpt 3 for this Dec 2004. I was wondering how long it will probably take me from now on . thanks
Hi Chris. Are you still in Hong Kong? If you are in Japan then things would be easier. As a guide, I passed 2 kyu the year after passing 3 kyu and that was without constant study throughout the year. However, like I said, being in Japan gives you constant study whether you like it or not! Good luck.
