This just goes to show how badly you can misunderstand a new word. Someone said to me 4さまが好き?
4さま could refer to somone in their 40’s, I guessed. I.e. the same as 40代(だい). I thought this for a few days until I checked with someone. It turns out that it was a lot simpler than I’d thought.
Not 4さま but ヨンさま – the name of a popular Korean drama actress on Japanese TV!
Hi Darren,
Actually ヨンさま is a guy; his full name is ペ・ヨンジュン。
Keep up the good work!
Cheers, charmaine
I stand corrected yet again!
Thanks Charmaine =)
You’re most welcome. I have the most respect for people starting to learn kanji as an adult. It is undoubtedly difficult.
がんばってください。
がんばります。漢字はたしかに難しいです。
