Did anybody notice anything different about this year’s listening test? For level 1, there were a couple of questions where you were actually told to take notes. That’s the first time I’ve ever experienced that during an exam. Personally, I tend to take notes anyway, but still, it was an intersting little change.

Another thing I’ve noticed about the level one listening test is that, if you’ve spent a moderate-long time in Japan, it’s relatively straight forward, much like level two, except that a few questions are noticeably harder than the others. Perhaps these questions cover Japanese language that I am not too familiar with but I don’t remember experiencing this with the other levels.

One point – I don’t really want to discuss any of the questions which came up as it only frustrates me when I found out which ones I got wrong.
